Introduction

Living in an information-explosion era, which different values and divergent opinions are exchanged every day, the Moral Education programme is developed to equip students with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to distinguish between right and wrong, and to foster their love and commitment to the society.

In order to encourage students to learn the positive values and attitudes by cultivating their sense of belongings towards the country, affection for the nation and sense of national identity through the curriculum, a new textbook will be used in Grade 1 and activities (Read to Feed Program in Grades 1 & 2) will be organized in lessons.

Four broad themes are covered in the programme, including Character Education, Personal Development, School Life and Social Development. These themes help students to grow as individuals and to be capable of playing a responsible role as members of the school community and the society.
