Objectives

The general aims of the School’s Mathematics curriculum are as follows:

  1. To enable students to explore and discover Mathematics in daily life situations.
  2. To stimulate students’ interest in learning Mathematics, and build up a positive learning attitude and habit.
  3. To enhance students’ creativity, logical thinking and critical thinking skills.
  4. To develop students’ multiple intelligences and inquiring based learning skills.
  5. To foster students’ confidence in tackling mathematical problems.
  6. To give students opportunities to participate in external competitions.
  7. To enable students to learn Mathematics meaningfully integrated with other subjects.
  8. To help students pursue a life-long interest in Mathematics. 

Major Concerns (2023-2024)

  1. To utilize information technology in learning of mathematics and presentation of findings for effective learning.
  2. To provide a better curriculum to cater for learners’ diversity by deploying student performance data.
  3. To prepare diverse learning materials for catering learners’ diversity.
  4. To provide more opportunities for students to participate in group work so that they can be more engaged in the process of co-construction of knowledge.
  5. To assign more project work or classroom activities in Math such that students’ cooperativeness would be enhanced.
